NYU GenAudioAI Club

2024–PRESENT · COMMUNITY ORGANIZING · FOUNDER · community

A student community for people working at the intersection of generative AI and audio. I founded it in fall 2024 with ten members. It's now two hundred and counting across undergraduate, Master's, and PhD populations at NYU.

The hard part of running a community at this scale isn't events; it's legibility. People inside a growing group stop knowing what the group is for, and the group stops knowing who is inside it. Most of my actual work on the club is invisible — maintaining a shape the community new members can read quickly, surfacing what each subpopulation is working on to each other, and building enough structure for hackathons and guest talks to run without improvisation while leaving enough room for research conversations to form their own weather.

Eight events and four hackathons to date. Partners and speakers have included Sony AI, OpenArt, Udio, and MachineCinema. I also lead workshops on foundational AI, model training, and applied audio AI, and present research papers to a cross-disciplinary audience.
